Home-Made Playdough

This isn’t a recipe to eat, but rather to play with. It’s super easy to make (5 min. tops) and so fun for kids 3 to 103. You can make all kinds of colors and as far as I know it’s non-toxic, but you should supervise small kids and maybe some big ones too.

To start you need a fairly good sized pan and it needs to be Teflon coated so it won’t stick.
2 cups of flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups water
16 drops food coloring ( what ever color you want)

Add your dry ingredients to your pan
Add wet ingredients
Cook over med. heat until it forms a soft ball. (do not overcook as it is easy to do)

Oh yeah: when you store your play-do make sure it’s stored air tight, just like real play-do it dries out if left unsealed. You also might want to keep it away from white clothes and carpeting.

Now go make a batch today, make as much and as many colors as you like. The gang will think you are a super hero and no will tell them how easy it was. cool smile
